Up for auction is a barn fresh John Deere A ( 1946 is writen on the hood in marker, but I have not looked into it).I just bought this tractor at an auction, where it had been siting in a barn for a while. This tractor is in pretty nice condition, and would be a good tractor to restore. The sheet metal is in good solid condition with only surface rust and dents.This tractor starts good and runs good, but you have to run the choke half-on so it will need tuned up. When running, it does not make any noices or knocking etc., and does not smoke, and it is running in these pictures so you can see that it does not smoke.I just had the starter profesionaly rebuilt ($150).2 brand new TITAN rear tires, one was not put on the tractor, but is included. Also included is brand new after-market tin hood section for over the battery. It is missing one front wheel. The rear wheel hubs are missing the clamps that clamp the hub down to the axle, but those are readily available. The right rear wheelwill not slide all the way in on the axle because someone had hit the wheel with a hammer to slide the wheel in, and now it is mushroomed over, and will need to be ground down a bit to slide the rest of the way.It is missing thepiece that connects the carb to the air cleaner, I think that is easy tofind one.This tractor has a imp. lift mechinism on the back, and a PTO. I have listed this tractor as honestly as I can, but it is an old tractor, and will be sold as-is where-is. The serial number (as good as I can tell) is 568352. This tractor is pickup only at my place in Wellington, Ohio 44090. I accept cash on pickup only on this item. If paid for in 10 days, it can stay here for 30 days until you can pick it up.
