Introduced in 1957, the Massey-Ferguson 50 was the next generation of a larger, heavier version of the very popular MF-35… and has long been a favorite among those needing a powerful, Heavy Duty farm tractor. During its 8 year production run, the MF-50 was known for their, “Tank Like” Heavy Duty construction, easy to maintain and loved by their owners. So robust were they built, the “50″ still provides great service and value even today… And this 1958 MF-50 is no exception. Here is a great surviving example of one of M-F’s Best Vintage Farm tractors. We know anything mechanical is only as good as its care and quality of maintenance… and that’s where our M-F-50 really shines… Until he retired, current owner and our neighbor Neil was a professional dirt track racer and Class A mechanic for over 40 years… and he maintains this beauty, his other tractors and antique car collections in similar fine fashion. This “50″ has been well maintained, serviced and now ready for you to put it to work and have fun while doing… Many antique tractor owners know that a well cared for and proper operating tractor will continue to hold its value… and you can expect the same with your investment in this Massey 50, as the past Fifty years of post production has shown. Not so for the more expensive and much smaller feather weight, “Garden Tractors” of today. All operating systems are fully functional, including the 2-speed PTO and 2-speed Hi Lo range tranny gearbox, providing 6 fwd. & 2 Rev. gears for maximum pulling power. Parts are readily available on eBay and through M-F’s US parent company, TRW. In this 1958 model, the Factory made substantial improvements to the “50″, including the then new, 12 volt electrical system, longer wheelbase, beefier front axle, allowing for attachment of bucket loaders, lifters, plows, etc. and a higher ground clearance.
