1957 SCHIELD BANTAM CRANE SHOVEL VINTAGE GOOD CONDITION - 120353299547
You are bidding a on 1957 Schield Bantam crane. We are the third owner but know the history of this machine since it was new. We have owned this for over 25 years and have used it a few times over the years to place trusses. We actually used it to build the shed which it is sitting in the pictures. This machine is being sold because we can’t foresee any future need for this machine and would like to gain the shed space. We would like to sell this to a collector or someone that has a use for it. I don’t think you could find a nicer one. This takes up a lot of space but we don’t have the heart to junk it or pull it outside in the elements. The machine has been sitting for about five years. If the listing ends successfully we will put batteries in the machine and have it running when you take delivery. This is an older machine but it has had very little use. It is by no means worn out and everything is tight on this machine. This has always been stored inside when not in use. The truck has only 1107 miles on it. This is a Bantam truck but the chassis was built by Chevrolet. It has a Chevrolet straight six gas motor. It is a 6X6 and has deep reduction gears. Brakes will need attention and aren’t currently operational. Some of the rear tires are blown but has at least one good tire per axel, per side. All tires are old and dry rotted. It has 750-20 tires on it and I can include about five 900-20 tires mounted on rims if desired. The cab on this machine has gotten dented up (see pictures). This is by no means road legal, but there are no major problems with it (other than those already stated) and it can be driven. I have a transferrable registration for this truck (see pictures). I don’t have a title for this truck. New York State didn’t begin titling vehicles until 1972. It never had a title and it never will (as with all NYS vehicles built before 1972). If you live in NY you should have no problem registering this, if you are out of state you may want to look into this. The crane itself is very clean and original. I believe it has a 40’ boom but 100% sure. If you are concerned about it, email me and I’ll go measure it. It is rated at six ton. Has a straight six Continental gas engine in it. The pictures pretty much tell the story here. We can’t recall any serious problems with the crane. We also have a dragline bucket and shovel for this machine. The shovel has never been on the machine or been used. However, neither the shovel or dragline bucket have been stored indoors. These items are included if you want them or you can leave them if you don’t. I don’t have pictures of these because they are covered with snow and other random stuff. I can see what I can do to uncover these if you are seriously interested in them. We do have the original owner’s manual, it isn’t in excellent condition but it is very readable. You are welcome to come look at the machine anytime. We can deliver this machine a reasonable distance at a fair price. If you are interested in delivery please clear it with us before bidding. Please understand this is a very old machine and thus is being sold “as is.� We can store the machine for a while if it is paid for.
