John Deere 105 Combine (not tractor) LOW, LOW HOURS - 290266306065

This is a very, very low hour JD 105 combine that I purchased a couple years ago from a farm estate auction. I initially purchased it for the possibility of taking out the engine (I’m a tractor puller), but I couldn’t stomach the thought of not keeping this machine complete. I’ll describe it as best as possible. The actual engine hours show 1511 hours (the tach picture shows a few less because we took it to a show) and they are original according to the original owner’s son at the estate auction. His surviving son provided most of what I know about the machine. The combine was purchased brand new by the now deceased owner and used until around the mid-1980’s when he retired and shedded it ever since. PLEASE VIEW THE PHOTOS. I would consider the overall condition ‘EXCELLENT” for a machine of this age. There are no tears in the seat, no damage to any of the glass, all lights work, and the tires have very minimal wear & weather checking.I will notcontinue to embellish this machine; however, I would be truthful in saying that you’d be very hard-pressed to find this model/year of combine in better condition. Data plate says “Type E0105″; “Ser. # 16920H”. I was told it’s a 1969 model; but I have not researched it. The engine is a gas 362 cu. in. rated at 105 hp. Belts show normal wear for a machine with these hours. There is no air conditioning (just a cab fan). The combine transmission is an automotive type 4 speed (1 reverse) with selective ground speed control override. The header is 12′ wide with the pickup attachment installed over cutter bar (see pictures). I do have the reel and bean pans to go with it. Reel has hydraulic lift and variable speed control. Straw chopper is on the machine. I cannot list everything, but that’s the basics. A new fuel pump and automotive battery was installed right before the estate sale when I purchased it. Since owning it, I did remove the carburetor and gave it a good cleaning (no small task if you know where it’s located). I also installed new plugs and an in-line gas filter outside the sediment bowl. I also cleaned it up good from years ofbeing shedded. I’ve engaged the combine separator, unloading auger,…etc.but never used it in the field. The only negatives that I can see are as follows: The temp gauge doesn’t work (not sure if it’s the sending unit or something else) but the combine does not run hot. Also, the gas tank has some scale in it from sitting. I pressure washed it out the best I could get in there with the internal baffles, but it’s not completely clean. I installed a copper siphon tube assembly on top of the fuel shutoff to keep the crud out of the sediment bowl and fuel pump (hence the extra in-line gas filter for cheap insurance). Also, the gas tank has a brazed patch where it appears an auxilliary tank was plumbed in at one time. That’s everything wrong with the machine as I see it. In addition, the original Owner’s son commented to me that his father overhauled the engine and they cut 40 acres and put it in the shed. It wasn’t run after that point since I obtained it. I don’t know the reason for the overhaul; however I found the original Owner’s hand-written notes in the Owners manual where it says “engine overhauled; carburetor overhauled; new sleeves & pistons; all bearings, rods, mains, & seals; repair cost $2,300.00 dated 10/18/85″. I realize that this is a far cry from maintenance records, but I feel it necessary to include this information if you’re leary about an overhauled engine. I have the original pre-delivery instructions, operators manual, and variable speed reel supplement to gowith the machine. You will also get all spare parts that I received with the machine. My father recently drove it 50-miles one way & back to a very prominent tractor show in western Minnesota this past labor day weekend (I don’t want to name the show for my promotional purposes). If you saw it there, this is the combine. No problems whatsoever except that my Dad spent 8 hours doing something he probably wouldn’t want to do again. I have not advertised this machine locally nor in any collector magazines. I will not do so unless it doesn’t sell on this auction. I’m torn about parting with this; however, my wife said to get that “big green thing” out of the shed. I do need to make room in my shed and this is part of my fall cleaning. It’s a very big item to store, but this machine would be ideal for a small acreage farmer or aJohn Deere collector looking for a unique item. Please contact me with any questions. You’re welcome to view it if you make arrangements with me. My reserve is set low (depending on your perspective). I set the reserve well below what I’ve seen beat up 6600’s and 7700’s sell for. Bid with confidence. This sale is for pick up only. You’ll need to arrange your own transport. I will require $500 down via Paypal or check within 7 days after the sale; and the remaining balance upon pickup (via cashier’s check or money order). I will store for 30 days unless you call me with other arrangements. I do require that it’s gone before the snow flies. I will keep it shedded, but I’m not responsible for damage or “acts of God” during the storage period. I’d encourage viewing it in person, but if you purchase this machine “blind” and then are completely disappointed when you come to pick it up, I will refund your money with no questions asked. I’m not out to make hard feelings; however pleasenobidding with the intention of being awindow shopper. Also, the warranty expires once it leaves my driveway. Thanks for looking.
