DitchWitch R-40 trencher / backhoe 4×4 Wisconsin V4 gas - 120331004604
I bought this DitchWitch about 2 years ago to do some work in my yard. Now it is time to pass it along. This machine at one time belonged to a rental place, I think they are the ones that painted it white. It is a very heavy duty machine in good running condition. It’s an R-40 base machine with 6 foot chain trencher , digs to 5 foot, has back fill blade and a backhoe on the front. V-4 cylinder air cooled Wiscosin gas engine, recent tune-up and carb rebuilt, starts right up and runs very well. It is ready to go to work.4 wheel drive with creep control, can be operated from the set or walk along side. I have no idea what year it is. I bought this at a good deal so I can pass along a good deal to someone. After selling most of our farm in Kentucky about 2 years ago and coming here to Kansas. We had a Terramite backhoe there (had a heck of a time keeping it in hoses) sold it and reinvested in the DitchWitch, we have a large lot and dirt to move and trees to dig up. I’ll tell you what, Terramite is a toy, DitchWitch is a machine. In 30 to 60 hours of use never broke a hose… Anyway our Son in law is a general contractor and since they have moved here there has been two hail storms and so he does mostly roofs now and needed a lift for shingles. So we borrowed from our boat fund to get a Null 40 ft lift and now need to replenish the fund. Fortunately we got the lift at a really good deal as well so it’s sort of like a trade off. Two things I need to mention, The brake doesn’t work, been like that since I got it. My diagnosis is that the piston in the master cylinder is stuck. Never needed the brake, push in the clutch and it stops. Also, there is a little lever located behind the drivers right elbow, all by it’s self. It doesn’t do anything and am not sure it is hooked up, no idea what it is suppose to do cause everything works. Buy this to get your work done and than resale, buy for your buisness, or start your own earth moving buisness or even rent it out. Located in town ( Kensington, Ks.) on N.
